Drawing Impulses are a friendly invitation to draw lines with a pen on paper. In simple instructions, anyone can join in, there are no barriers of previous knowledge or age.
Drawing invites you to focus, to refine your own perception and sensitivity and to try creative solutions. At the heart of every drawing is the quality of the line.
It’s not much: a table, a pad, paper in A3 format or larger, a few sheets of A4 for notes, a pencil, a sharpener and, if necessary, an eraser. Maybe scraps of wastepaper, charcoal, crayons, ballpoint pens, ink, quills – anything with which you can create a line.
Every drawing is an experiment and a lot of fun.

During the Lockdowns in 2020 and 2021 the artist Luise Kloos developed auditory drawing impulses for graphic artists taking online seminars at the Bad Reichenhall Art Academy.
These impulses for experimental drawing are now available in the podcast DRAWING IMPULSES.

After completing her studies in education, Luise Kloos spent years studying at the University of Technology in Graz and the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. The artist often develops her works based on the spaces and situations that present themselves to her. In 1995 she founded next – Verein für zeitgenössische Kunst. With this art association Luise Kloos realized various international artists-in-residence projects, European cultural projects, lectures and symposia.
Luise Kloos has received numerous national and international prizes and awards.
She has presented her exhibitions in Austria, Germany, USA, India, Finland, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Great Britain, Poland, and Mexico.
As a lecturer Luise Kloos teaches at the Art Academy Bad Reichenhall, as well as at various institutions in Austria and Croatia. During the pandemic, she began offering online drawing courses. In the process, many drawing impulses were created for people who love to draw. Now she is making “DRAWING IMPULSES – Inspiration for Experimental Drawing” available as podcasts.
next – Verein für zeitgenössische Kunst specializes in the conception and realization of contemporary international artists-in-residence projects. According to the respective theme artists and scholars from various disciplines are invited to collaborate in the temporary studios. The aesthetic inquiry ranges from migration, social coexistence, and the contemporary examination of traditional cultural techniques, to digitalization and propaganda/anti-propaganda, to climate change, nature and art space. This results in a diverse group of very young to experienced artists and academics. Another focus is the cooperation with artists and scientists from South-Eastern Europe, especially in the context of history.
